Optimal Interviews has a number of built-in capabilities to protect privacy including PII redaction for English audio, transcripts, and insights and the option to disable video playback.

Video Privacy Controls
When you upload videos to a study, you can check the Hide this study's video box. Then, all uploaded videos associated with this study will have the video playback removed to protect participant privacy and replaced with an Optimal screen. You will still receive automated insights, summaries, transcripts, audio, and highlight reels (audio).

Automatic PII redaction
Certain types of sensitive data are automatically redacted for audio, transcripts, AI-generated insights, chat, and key quotes. At this stage, redaction works for English videos.

These include:

• Phone number
• Social Security Number
• Credit/debit card number
• Credit card expiration, CVV, PIN
• Bank account number
• Bank routing number

Some PII is currently not automatically redacted, such as email or names.
