Is Optimal Workshop Section 508 (Accessibility) Compliant?
Section 508 was enacted by the US Federal Government to eliminate barriers in information technology, to make available new opportunities for people with disabilities, and to encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. The law applies to all Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology. Information on Section 508 can be found at the official wesite: http://www.section508.gov/
At this point none of the Optimal Workshop applications are officially 508 compliant. That is, they have not been assessed against the criteria for 508 compliance by Optimal Workshop or any other party.
We take accessibility seriously and attempt to make considerations for accessibility when designing all of our applications. However, we have not yet made the decision to ensure full 508 compliance.
We encourage any of our users to point out accessibility problems with our applications, and we will endeavor to fix them with priority.
