Integrating with a panel
I need to integrate with a panel and I need to tell the panel recruiter company exactly what URL to direct participants to. I've read the topic Integrating with a Participant Panel but I need some help. For the URL that the recruiter company should link to, what exact URL do I give them (they won't help me with this, so I need to give them the correct info).
From the topic, it says "To pass in an identifier from the
panel, add the query parameter "token=XXXXX" to the end of the
survey URL." Does this mean that the recruiter company needs to
take my URL of (https://accountname.optimalworkshop.com/toolname/surveyname)
and add on their token? I tried to add the token to the end of the
URL in OptimalSort, but got an error so I assume that's wrong.
So, the recruiter company would need to have a URL look
like:
https://accountname.optimalworkshop.com/toolname/surveyname?token=X...
Is that right? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Theresa,
The XXXXXX part of those instructions is a placeholder for a real identifier. So, if your survey address was our demo survey,
https://bananacom.optimalworkshop.com/treejack/bananacom-ia-redesignThen to pass in a identifier, the panel needs to generate the identifier and add it to the end of the URL, like this:
https://bananacom.optimalworkshop.com/treejack/bananacom-ia-redesign?token=12345"Token" is not a placeholder. We don't accept arbitrary variables from panels. The variable that the panel appends to the end of the survey URL must be called "token".
If, on the other hand, your panel doesn't generate unique identifiers for each participant, then you can ignore all this, and just give them the survey URL on its own.
I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if anything needs clarifying.
